The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs head to Las Vegas to take on the 2-5 Raiders on Sunday. The longtime rivalry is likely to make for spicy showdown.
In a since-deleted video released earlier this year, the Raiders mocked Patrick Mahomes’ voice with a Kermit the Frog puppet. The Kansas City quarterback told The Star’s Vahe Gregorian that he will use every possible motivating factor this weekend, including the perceived disrespect.
But the entire Chiefs roster feels that they have something to prove after last year’s Christmas Day loss to the Raiders in Kansas City. That defeat pointed toward the team possibly missing the playoffs, becoming a turning point in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning season.
A victory this weekend means a 13th straight win, tying the Chiefs’ record, and would continue the team’s streak as the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL.
The Star’s Blair Kerkhoff has more on what to watch as the Chiefs take the field. Kickoff is at 3:25 p.m. Central on Sunday, Oct. 27.
