The Chiefs are back in action Sunday night against the Los Angeles Chargers — Kansas City’s first divisional opponent of the season.
The 3-0 Chiefs defeated the Falcons last week on the road in Atlanta. They are headed to LA this week to face the 2-1 Chargers, who lost at the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. The Chiefs have never lost in SoFi Stadium, and were the Chargers’ first opponent to play in the new stadium in 2020.
The Chiefs have won 10 straight games in the series, including five in San Diego and one in Mexico City.
Fans will want to keep an eye on the Chiefs efforts to slow the Chargers’ lead running back J.K. Dobbins — he’s the NFL’s third leading rusher with 310 yards and tops the league with 7.4 yards per carry.
As The Star’s Blair Kerkhoff wrote earlier this week, the featured running backs for the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons all produced their lowest output of the season against the Chiefs.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. (Central) on Sunday, Sept. 29.
