Dorgu pushing for Manchester United January move
Manchester United have seen their opening bid for Patrick Dorgu rejected, but the player himself could play a key role in winning his side’s reluctance to sell him in January, as he’s reportedly craving an immediate move to Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old is a keystone to Marco Giampaolo’s side, who look unwilling to lose one of their most important players mid-season, while they are still battling to avoid relegation.
This was one of the main reasons why the Giallorossi turned down the Red Devils’ initial bid of about €30m plus bonuses, with reports also suggesting they’d also expect a higher fee to sell the versatile full-back in the winter transfer window.
Dorgu asks Lecce to let him join Manchester United in January
However, Tuttomercatoweb suggests that Dorgu’s desire to move to the Premier League could simplify negotiations between the two parties, as he’s reportedly pushing for a transfer in January, which could prompt Lecce to strive to find an agreement with Manchester United in order not to keep a player unwilling to stay at the club.
The relegation-threatened outfit is also said to have placed an offer for Estrela da Amadora full-back Danilo Veiga, who is seen as a potential replacement for the Danish talent.
