'I Don't Know If I've Ever Been More Excited To Play A Hockey Game:' Seth Jarvis Returns To Lineup For Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes are getting some much needed reinforcements as they prepare for perhaps the toughest week on their schedule.
After being activated off of injured reserve last night, Seth Jarvis will in fact be returning to the Hurricanes' lineup after missing seven games with an upper-body injury, the longest stretch of games he's ever missed.
"I don't know if I've ever been more excited to play a hockey game, at least in a while," Jarvis said. "That was too long for me. Too long on my own. So I'm pumped to be back."
Not only was Jarvis out of the lineup, but he also had to miss the team's most recent road trip and was stuck at home by himself instead having to watch the games on TV.
"I hated every second of it," Jarvis said. "As much as I love the guys, I never want to watch a game again."
Jarvis did at least find some ways to keep himself entertained as he hosted a Q&A session before Thursday's game on X.

"Pretty much I had nothing to do and was just trying to fill my day with something," Jarvis said. "That's what I landed upon and I'm happy I did because it was fun. I couldn't get to everyone but I had a good time."
Jarvis, who has four goals and 11 points in 13 games so far this season, will jump right back into the top-six as he was lined up alongside Jack Drury and Martin Necas at Monday's morning skate.
"I guess they finally realized that I've been cold so they got someone to help me," Jarvis joked. "It's going to be fun. Me and [Necas] have never really played together. We've always talked about it, so it's something exciting, something new to try out and something I'm definitely looking forward to it."
When asked what they could bring on a line together, the big thing Jarvis pointed out was speed.
"A lot of speed," Jarvis said "Obviously that's his MO and mine as well. I think just being able to get him the puck and use my ability to work away from the puck to get open — because I know he's going to find me — and then just be the trigger man and be ready to shoot whenever. I'm just excited to see how it unfolds."

Jarvis' return couldn't have come at a better time for Carolina who heads into a one week, four-game gauntlet against some of the top teams in the league: Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and Florida Panthers.
"I want to play in these games," Jarvis said. "These are the ones you kind of mark on your calendar. It's a tough little gauntlet of a stretch and I'm looking forward to being a part of it."
"Obviously that was a big miss for us," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour. "Nice to see him get back in there."

Jarvis didn't want to disclose anything more about his injury, "I'm not telling anybody. It's on the upper-body. The upper-half from my waist," but Brind'Amour stated that he shouldn't be affected by anything lingering.
"Anytime you have any type of injury you're always a little bit leery of it again, but he should be fully good," Brind'Amour said.
Jarvis and the Canes are expecting a big boost from his insertion back into the lineup and hopefully that can help offset some of the worries the team has around its current goaltending situation.
"A lot of energy, a lot of excitement," Jarvis said. "Been watching the last couple of games. Pissed that I didn't get to go on the road trip, so I'm just going to use that energy tonight."
