Done Deal: Roma clinch Kone agreement with Gladbach

As expected, Roma clinched the deal with Borussia Monchengladbach for Manu Kone at €20-25m and he will arrive this afternoon for a medical.

Multiple sources including Fabrizio Romano, Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and Sky Sports Deutschland all have the same details.

His flight is already booked, his agent was already in the Eternal City anyway after agreeing personal terms on a contract to June 2029.

The opening offer was rejected at €15m plus bonuses, but negotiations continued rapidly and an agreement was reached.

Sky Sports Deutschland believe the final cost of the package including add-ons will be €20-25m.

Roma beat Milan to Kone signature

Kone had also been a transfer target for Milan, but they were unable to shift Ismael Bennacer in time to free up the funds for this pursuit.

Roma, on the other hand, suddenly found themselves with an extra €25m after the deal with RC Lens for Kevin Danso was abandoned due to a failed medical.

Instead, they secured Tiago Djalo from Juventus, on loan with an option to buy for €9m plus €1m in add-ons, and used the extra cash for a midfielder.
