Done Deal: Milan send Okafor to RB Leipzig, now for Rashford
Noah Okafor is expected to fly out to Germany tomorrow for a loan with option to buy transfer to RB Leipzig, allowing Milan to go all in for Marcus Rashford.
The day had started with reports the opening proposal had been rejected, but negotiations continued intensively throughout Thursday to finally reach a positive conclusion.
According to transfer pundits Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, the clubs shook hands this evening and the player also agreed personal terms.
Milan push Okafor out, bring Rashford in
Okafor will see his salary covered by RB Leipzig during the loan until June 30, along with an option to buy from Milan for a total of circa €25m.
This is not an obligation to purchase, which is why the fee is so much higher than the suggested €15-16m suggested by Calciomercato.com.
Milan could not accept less than that, having paid €15.5m to sign Okafor from RB Salzburg back in the summer of 2023.
Tuttomercatoweb have the figure closer to €20m, but not including bonuses.
Once Okafor has completed the transfer, Milan can then focus on bringing in Rashford from Manchester United.
🚨🔴⚪️ EXCL: RB Leipzig and AC Milan have agreed on loan deal for Noah Okafor plus buy option clause worth over €25m.
Loan with salary covered by Leipzig, buy option clause not mandatory — around €25/28m based on several factors.
