Lazio Secure Arijon Ibrahimovic
The Biancocelesti have been linked with a plethora of young players in recent weeks, and chief among them Empoli’s Jacopo Fazzini. But out of the blue, Ibrahimovic’s name surfaced on the scene and he’s apparently all set to seal his transfer to the Italian capital side. According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the 19-year-old will land in Rome on Sunday evening and undergo his medical on Monday.
The Figures
The attacking midfielder who spent the previous campaign at Frosinone should arrive at Lazio on loan with an option or obligation to buy on a deal worth circa €10 million, while Bayern should maintain a buy-back option for around €25 million.
Ahead of his Age
La Lazio Siamo Noi spoke to Bild journalist Nicolas Linner who provided some insights on Ibrahimovic whom he describes as an ‘incredible talent’.
Ibrahimovic arrived at Bayern Munich in the summer of 2018 from Nuremberg at the age of 12. At the time, he was already considered an incredible talent, so much so that at 14 he was already playing in the club’s U17 team and at 15 he trained with the first team for the first time. In 2022, he signed his first professional contract as the Bavarian club believed he had enormous potential.
He always behaved very well in training with the seniors, he was one of the best young players in the winter of 2023. However, he had difficulty getting minutes due to the strong competition in attack at Bayern Munich. For this reason, the loan to Frosinone was quite logical. It helped him mature and grow as a footballer, even if his performances were not exceptional.
Versatility & Character
Linner reveals the teenager can play almost anywhere in the final third thanks to his exceptional skills and eye for goal.
Ibrahimovic can play in any position in the attack, as he has often done in the past. In his early years at Bayern Munich, he played mainly as a central attacking midfielder, but he can also move very well on the wings. One of his main strengths is the personality he brings to the pitch.
In training with the first team, he has never been afraid to put himself in one-on-one situations. And then he has an incredible desire to score. At Bayern Munich, he had a great football education
