Done Deal: Chelsea accept Casadei offer from Lazio
According to Sportitalia, Chelsea have accepted Lazio’s offer for Cesare Casadei, which is worth €12m cash plus a 25 per cent cut of the resale.
The news from Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà was also confirmed by pundit Fabrizio Romano.
Lazio had been in a bidding war with fellow Serie A side Torino for the Italy Under-21 international, but their most recent proposal over the last 48 hours proved decisive.
It is believed to be worth €12m including bonuses plus a cut of the future transfer fee, expected to be 25-30 per cent.
Casadei set for Serie A return
Casadei was a product of the Inter youth academy and was sold to Chelsea in the summer of 2022 for a fee of just under €15m plus add-ons.
He went on loan to Reading FC and Leicester City before returning to Stamford Bridge this summer, but failed to get any regular playing time with the Blues.
The midfielder turned 22 earlier this month and is hoping to break into the senior Italy squad rather than just the Under-21 side.
Casadei made only six competitive appearances this season, mainly in the Europa Conference League, without a single minute of Premier League football.
