‘I don’t know’ – Barcelona boss Flick provides Lamine Yamal injury update
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the wellbeing of winger Lamine Yamal.
This comes after the 17-year-old was a last-minute exclusion from Barcelona’s latest squad.
The Blaugrana are of course locked in action at present, eyeing an 8th successive victory across all competitions in a La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.
Upon Barca’s squad for the matchup being unveiled online, however, the aforementioned Lamine was nowhere to be seen.
In an ensuing statement, the Catalans revealed that as much comes owing to ‘a severe right ankle contusion’, suffered en route to the club’s Champions League downing of Red Star Belgrade in midweek.

Speaking to the media ahead of kick-off on Sunday evening, the subject of his young attacker’s wellbeing was, in turn, put to Barcelona boss Flick.
And the German tactician went on to provide the following update:
“Lamine Yamal’s return? I don’t know how long Lamine will be out, we are focused on today’s match against Real Sociedad.
“We tried until the end with Lamine. We have to take care of him, he has problems with his ankle. We will be missing an important player, but in the end we have another player, Fermin, who will come in and he has also played well in the last games.”
