“He doesn’t feel good” – Pep Guardiola hands Kevin De Bruyne update after Manchester City snatch late win over Wolves

Pep Guardiola provided an important update on Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker following Manchester City’s last-gasp victory over Wolves on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester City secured three important points against Wolves in the Premier League this weekend after John Stones scored a late winner.

Ahead of the game, when Pep Guardiola’s lineup was announced, fans quickly noticed that Kyle Walker was not included in the squad, while Kevin de Bruyne also missed out while he recovers from injury.

The club confirmed that Walker’s absence was due to the captain not being ‘fully fit’ heading into the clash.

Walker played 90 minutes against Finland for England before returning to City’s training ground last week.

“He doesn’t feel good after the national team, so he does not travel,” explained Guardiola ahead of the game at the Molineux Stadium.

Meanwhile, De Bruyne has been sidelined for the past few weeks after suffering an issue against Inter Milan in the opening week of the Champions League.

Despite Guardiola initially reassuring fans that the injury to the Belgian international wasn’t serious and would not result in a long-term absence, his recovery has taken longer than expected.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the dramatic win at Wolves, Guardiola suggested that neither player will be available to face Sparta Prague in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

“I don’t think they will be ready,” admitted the Spanish boss. “We have few days training but don’t think so.”

The City boss will be hoping that the two experienced players will be back in action for the Premier League clash against Southampton next weekend.
