Does Bears' Caleb Williams think he was coached well in rookie season?

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had quite the journey through his first season in the NFL, seeing his offensive coordinator and head coach get fired in the middle of the season. Overall, Williams would go through three different coordinators, two head coaches, a 10-game losing streak and only five wins.

Given the turmoil that he faced through a continued changing coaching staff and his lack of production in several games, Williams was hearing from many different voices and mindsets throughout the year.

On Monday, Williams met with the media for his exit interview to put a bow on his rookie year, and was asked an interesting question about the coaching he received this year. Asked if he believed he had been coached well in his rookie season, Williams said it was more about the circumstances and adversity he faced in his first year with Chicago.

"I think I was coached well for the task at hand," Williams said. "Coaches being fired, only being here for a certain amount of time, trying to build a relationship between coaches, I think that's a challenge in itself. To have different coaches throughout the season, have different terminologies, and the way they believe in stuff, trying to run somebody else's offense. I think the overall part of the year, I would say I was coached well."

From Matt Eberflus to Thomas Brown as head coaches, and Shane Waldron to Thomas Brown to Chris Beatty as offensive coordinators, Williams had five different voices from the key coaching positions in his rookie year. A tough task for both the coaches and Williams, it all leads into the importance of finding the right coach not only for the Bears future as a team but for the growth, development, and success of the man who was declared the franchise quarterback by president Kevin Warren this week.
