Doctor Who and Barbie have given us the crossover we never knew we needed.

The anticipated big-screen adaptation of the iconic doll is due to finally hit cinemas next week, and to celebrate its arrival, a pink TARDIS has popped up in London.

Sharing a picture of the legendary time machine's amazing new version by the River Thames, Warner Bros' official Instagram account wrote: "A pink TARDIS from @BBCDoctorWho has landed on the banks of Tower Bridge".

Doctor Who's official account very aptly added in their own post: "Come on TARDIS, let's go party", while a Barbie car has also made an appearance.

Of course, the Doctor Who link isn't exactly tenuous, with incoming Doctor Ncuti Gatwa starring in Barbie as one of the Kens.

Gatwa also revealed recently to British Vogue that fellow Ken actor Ryan Gosling is the "biggest fan" of the sci-fi show.

Speaking on working on the movie together, he recalled: "I remember Ryan Gosling bounding up to my trailer like, 'Doctor Who is the coolest show in the world man! I’m the biggest fan,' and I was like, 'What the hell?' This show has incredible reach."

Gosling himself previously said of Gatwa's casting as the Fifteenth Doctor: "I am such a big fan of Ncuti's. He's the coolest, and him playing Doctor Who is like the most exciting thing that's happening right now. So, I'm here for it."

Meanwhile, ahead of Barbie's release, the first reactions for the movie have arrived, with many of those who have seen it heaping praise on Greta Gerwig's film.

The movie stars Margot Robbie as Barbie, with the likes of America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu and Emma Mackey also appearing.

Barbie is released in cinemas on July 21. Doctor Who returns later in 2023 on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Meanwhile, in the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on Max.
