DJ Moore understands Matt Eberflus decision to kick field goal vs Green Bay
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus has been under fire following his latest loss to the Green Bay Packers regarding his decision and process to kick the potential game-winning field goal on second down. On the final drive, quarterback Caleb Williams and the offense got within striking distance with 35 seconds left. Instead of running another play and potentially gaining more yards to give kicker Cairo Santos a shorter attempt, Eberflus decided to run the game clock down to the final three seconds, and kick a 46-yard-field field goal, which was ultimately blocked by Green Bay in the 20-19 loss.
It was an unfortunate ending to a game that saw the offense turn it around in a major way, including for star wide receiver DJ Moore, who understood his coach's decision to let Santos kick from where they were. Speaking with 670 The Score's Mully & Haugh Show on Monday, Moore was asked about Eberflus' decision to not run another play and noted that Santos was on point from the distance prior to the game. "He was money from there in warmups," Moore said. "You be damned if you do, damned if you don't."
DJ Moore understands why Matt Eberflus was comfortable having Cairo Santos kick from 46 yards and why he didn't call another play to get closer.

It was certainly a gut-wrenching and heartbreaking loss, the team's fourth in a row, but there is no doubting the confidence that coaches and teammates had in Santos. Looking to turn the page and end their losing streak, the Bears will host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, hoping to continue the momentum they've built on offense under new coordinator Thomas Brown.
