Journalist Peppe Di Stefano has lifted the lid on what the early part of Sergio Conceicao’s tenure as the head coach of AC Milan has taught us.

It has undoubtedly been a chaotic end to 2024 and start to the new year for Milan, who went into the Roma game with Paulo Fonseca as their head coach then less than 24 hours they had announced the appointment of Conceicao on a deal until 2026.

Though he has only had a few training sessions with the team, there were already some signs about how the Portuguese coach wants to organise his side, and we picked some of them out in a tactical analysis of the Juventus game.

Speaking live on Sky (via MilanNews), Di Stefano took the chance to comment on the final this evening against Inter but also gave his thoughts on the new coach Conceiçao, based on what he has seen and heard.

“It will be a Milan similar to the one seen against Juventus, there is only one change with Musah replacing Bennacer with the Rossoneri who could invert Pulisic and Jimenez,” he said.

“There will also be Leao and Loftus-Cheek, recovered but on the bench. Milan believes in it but knows well the strength of Inter. Conceiçao has had very little time, he has no time to get excited.

“He is a coach who loves hard work, even in the rigid rules. He has a different approach from Fonseca and Pioli, the team will still have to get to know him well.”
