What did Jimmy Johnson say about Dallas Cowboy Dak Prescott’s new contract?

The NFL is abuzz after Dak Prescott signed the largest contract, four-year $240 million, in NFL history and ex-Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson was on FOX NFL Kickoff and gave his opinion.

Johnson said Prescott could take Dallas back to the Super Bowl and praised the quarterbacks tenure with the Cowboys.

“Like him or not, Dak is the guy,” said Johnson, “He will be the guy, he’s been great during the regular season. Everybody says ‘Well you gotta win playoff games,’ well give him a chance to win playoff games.”

Johnson explained what Prescott will need to get the Cowboys back to the Super Bowl.

“Surround him with a better-supporting cast,” said Johnson, “I’m not sure about their running backs right now, but they’ve got some outstanding receivers, they’ve got a good tight end, they‘ve got a good football team, they’ve got a good defense.”

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman agreed with Johnson’s take and echoed Johnson’s concerns about whether the running back room would hold the Cowboys back.

Johnson finished the segment by picking the Cowboys to beat the Cleveland Browns in their season opener.
