Did Jaquan Brisker shade Matt Eberflus after firing?

News of the Chicago Bears firing head coach Matt Eberflus shook the NFL world on Friday. After a sixth straight loss and an embarrassing display of failed late-game execution in a 23-20 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, Eberflus was finally fired, the first time in Bears franchise history that they have relieved a head coach during the season.

With many reactions coming in from all around NFL circles there may be no more damning response than what could have come from one specific key Bears player. Young and highly-regarded safety Jaquan Brisker, who has been out of action since Week 5 with a concussion and has now landed him on injured reserve, had an interesting tweet following the news.

Purely speculative, but it feels as if Brisker had an immediate reaction to Eberflus being relieved of his head coaching role.

"God don't make mistakes," Brisker wrote.

For what it's worth, Brisker has been very active on X (Twitter) over the past 24 hours, as he has been during his time on injured reserve for all Bears games he's missed. It'll be interesting to note what the culture and tone of the Bears locker room is when players return next week with interim head coach and offensive coordinator Thomas Brown now leading the way.
