Di Marzio: Milan waiting on answers from targets before acting on Depay interest

AC Milan are waiting to hear answers from some of their primary transfer targets before they make any definitive move for Memphis Depay who is available on a free transfer.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on his daily podcast (via Pianeta Milan), the Rossoneri are trying to juggle a lot of negotiations and Depay is currently lower down the pecking order.

There are players still at the 2024 European Championships that Milan would like to sign, such as Alvaro Morata, Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot.

Those deals are unlikely to advance too far until the players are not distracted by the tournament, but all three will be in action tonight at France vs Spain.

As well as those deals, Milan are trying to find an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for Emerson Royal. Until Milan know more about those deals, it will be hard to know if they have the financial power to also pursue a move for Depay.

The Dutchman is actually available on a free transfer after leaving Atletico Madrid this summer, but his wages would be considerable and he is a big personality to add to the dressing room under a new coach. For what it’s worth, he is also at Euro 2024 with the Netherlands who have a semi-final against England.
