Yahoo Sports Di Lorenzo to announce Napoli commitment tomorrow
According to Sportitalia, Giovanni Di Lorenzo will announce via social media tomorrow that he is staying at Napoli after a summer of controversy.
The captain had been adamant since just before the end of last season that he felt disrespected by the club and wanted to move on.
His agent had several summits with directors, President Aurelio De Laurentiis and new coach Antonio Conte, who all insisted they did not wish to see him leave.
Napoli assured today the issue was resolved and it seems to be finally true, after several false alarms and cancelled press conferences.
Di Lorenzo sticks with Napoli
It is believed that Di Lorenzo will announce via an open letter on social media that he is ready to remain at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, where he wore the captain’s armband in their glorious Scudetto-winning campaign.
His contract still runs to June 2028, so the club was in a strong position to resist offers, especially from Inter and Juventus.
