Di Canio on Roma’s poor start: “Some of the players De Rossi defends are too relaxed.”
Former Lazio player Paolo Di Canio analyzed Roma’s poor start to the new season in his commentary for Sky Sport.
While analyzing De Rossi’s mistakes, Di Canio addressed the issue of some players getting too comfortable around their ex-teammate turned coach.
“You can see that De Rossi is a genuine person and has difficulty detaching himself from the image of the idol of Roma fans: in some way he is trying with communication but yesterday he became apprehensive by arguing about the foul called for the intervention on Pellegrini.”
“That is a signal of immaturity that needs to improve, in my opinion. At times, some players that the coach defended in his press conference [Pellegrini, Cristante, Paredes] seemed too relaxed. Instead, we expect something more from them.”
