Devils Veteran Forward Is Breaking The Ice
The New Jersey Devils are going through a rough patch. The Metropolitan Division club has lost four straight games and has won just two of their previous 10 contests.
While things have been tough for the Devils, forward Tomas Tatar has been a positive as of late. After the 34-year-old winger recorded an assist in the Devils' Jan. 18 game against the Philadelphia Flyers, he scored New Jersey's lone goal in their loss to the Ottawa Senators on Jan. 19.
Tatar getting on the scoresheet in back-to-back games is excellent to see. Before this, he had gone 15 straight appearances without a point. Thus, Tatar going on a bit of a hot streak is significant.
Tatar has shown throughout his career that he can be a solid secondary scorer when playing at his best. He undoubtedly demonstrated this during the 2022-23 season with New Jersey, posting 20 goals and 48 points in 82 games.
It will now be interesting to see how Tatar builds on his hot stretch of play from here. If he keeps this kind of production up, it would help the Devils' bottom six tremendously.
