Yahoo Sports Devils' Star Forward Joins Kirk Muller & Scott Gomez In Elusive Category
With 1:25 remaining in Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils forward Jesper Bratt found himself near the blue line scanning the ice of the Flyers' offensive zone.
Jack Hughes dished the puck to the 26-year-old, who quickly moved it to Timo Meier. The power forward blasted it past opposing goaltender Samuel Ersson.
It marked the Swede's team-leading 40th assist of the 2024-25 season.
Per NHL Pr, Bratt became the third player in franchise history to record four consecutive 40-assist seasons, joining Kirk Muller (six from 1985-86 – 1990-91) and Scott Gomez (four from 2002-03 – 2006-07).
The winger's career-high assists in a single season is 56, which he achieved in 2023-24.
Bratt extended his point streak to three games with his helper on Meier's goal, collecting one goal and three assists in that span.
Through 52 games, he has 56 points (16 goals, 40 assists) and is on pace to surpass his career-high 83 points.
On Wednesday, Bratt will look to extend his point streak to four games, a milestone he has reached five times this season.
