Devils' Sheldon Keefe Changes Forward Group Ahead of Game Against Panthers
Head coach Sheldon Keefe made a slight change to his forward group ahead of the New Jersey Devils game against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night.
Team reporter Catherine Bogart reported that during their morning skate line rushes, Dawson Mercer and Stefan Noesen swapped places for the following combinations:
Timo Meier - Nico Hischier - Stefan Noesen
Ondrej Palat - Jack Hughes - Jesper Bratt
Paul Cotter - Erik Haula - Dawson Mercer
Kurtis MacDermid - Justin Dowling - Tomas Tatar
"(Noesen is) hard on the puck, good on the forecheck, defensively responsible, he will get to the net," Keefe said. "It is something I’ve been wanting to look at for a while. With this particular matchup with the Panthers, what Noesen brings to Nico’s group can help us. At the same time, I think Mercer has good things to offer to the Haula group."
Tuesday's Devils-Panthers game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Bob Wischusen and Ray Ferraro on the call. Puck drop will be 7:30 P.M., EST.
