Devils Place Defenseman On Waivers

The New Jersey Devils have made a roster move, placing defenseman Nick Desimone on waivers.

DeSimone, 30, has yet to appear in a game this season with the Devils and has served as an extra defender while with the NHL squad. He has played in 12 games with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate this campaign, though, posting three assists and a minus-10 rating.

The Devils claimed DeSimone off waivers last season from the Calgary Flames. In 11 games with the Devils in 2023-24, he had one goal, one assist, 14 hits, and a plus-7 rating.

Teams looking for more defensive depth could consider taking a flier on DeSimone. However, if he clears waivers, he will return to the Comets again. We will need to wait and see what happens on that front from here.
