Devils Need Important Forward To Break The Ice

New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula is having a tough 2024-25 season. In 41 games, the 33-year-old forward has five goals, six assists, and a minus-4 rating. Given Haula's offensive skill, these numbers are below expectations for the veteran.

Haula is going through a significant offensive dry spell right now, too. He is snake-bitten, as he has not recorded a point in 17 straight games, with his last coming against the Nashville Predators on Nov. 25.

While things are not going well offensively for Haula right now, there is apparent reason to believe that he can get things back on track. He provided solid secondary scoring for the Devils this past season, posting 16 goals and 35 points in 76 games. This was after he had 14 goals and 41 points in 80 games back in 2022-23.

If Haula can regain his scoring touch and break the ice, it will only make the Devils an even bigger threat in the Eastern Conference. They could clearly use more offense from the bottom half of the lineup, and Haula has the potential to give them that when playing at his best. Let's see if he can snap his scoring drought against the Sharks tomorrow.
