On Saturday afternoon, the New Jersey Devils will wrap up their 2024-25 regular season series with the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center.

When head coach Sheldon Keefe spoke to reporters, he confirmed that goaltender Jacob Markstrom would be starting in goal. The veteran has a 6-8-1 record in 15 games with a goals-against average of 3.13 and a save percentage of .898 against the Sharks in his career.

Keefe did not make any changes to his group, with the following lines and pairs being utilized during the team's pre-game warmups:

Ondrej Palat - Jack Hughes - Jesper Bratt

Tomas Tatar - Curtis Lazar - Nathan Bastian

Brenden Dillon - Dougie Hamilton

Jonas Siegenthaler - Johnathan Kovacevic

Luke Hughes - Brett Pesce

In separate news, New Jersey placed defenseman Nick DeSimone on waivers Saturday afternoon, per Elliotte Friedman.

The 30-year-old has served as the team's extra defenseman since being recalled from the Utica Comets of the American Hockey League (AHL) on Dec. 12. If he clears, the Devils will have six defensemen on their roster, with one additional West Coast game against the Seattle Kraken on Jan. 6.

The puck drops between the Devils and Sharks at 4:00 P.M. Fans can watch on MSGSN or listen on the Devils Hockey Network.
