Devils Have Clear Trade Need To Address
The New Jersey Devils are in a good spot in the standings but are also experiencing a skid. They have lost four straight games and eight out of their last ten.
During their four-game losing streak, the Devils have only scored six times. This includes a tough 2-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators in their last game on Jan. 19.
The Devils' current struggles show that they should be looking to add to their roster by the 2025 NHL trade deadline. Adding depth scoring, in particular, should be their top priority.
Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald has been honest about wanting to add another center, which is entirely understandable. An upgrade at the third-line center spot would be significant for the Devils. Some centers that could be available leading up to the deadline include Trent Frederic, Yanni Gourde, Scott Laughton, and Jake Evans.
However, the Devils should also consider adding another scoring winger. Their middle six would benefit from a boost, especially given their recent offensive struggles.
It will be interesting to see what moves the Devils make from here. They are already a good team, but adding more depth to their offense would make them an even more significant threat.
