Devils Assign Defenseman Simon Nemec to AHL

NEWARK, N.J. -- The New Jersey Devils assigned defenseman Simon Nemec to the American Hockey League on Thursday evening.

The 20-year-old has not appeared in a game since Oct. 22. He has been a healthy scratch since Luke Hughes and Brett Pesce returned from injury.

Nemec appeared in nine games this season and has been credited with one assist and 10 blocked shots, averaging 16:07 ice time.

Nemec joins a Comets blue line that includes Seamus Casey, Nick DeSimone, Colton White, and Topias Vilen. Utica's next game is Friday, Nov. 8, against the Cleveland Monsters.
