Devils Have 2 Interesting Trade Targets From Ducks
The New Jersey Devils play their final game of 2024 against the Anaheim Ducks tonight. They will look to bounce back after a tough 5-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in their last contest.
This game also provides the Devils with the opportunity to check out some of the Ducks' players. The Ducks are expected to be sellers this season, and the Devils have two potential targets from them who they should consider making a push for: Frank Vatrano and Robby Fabbri.
Vatrano, 30, would have the potential to be a solid addition to the Devils' middle six if acquired. The 5-foot-11 forward has appeared in 34 games this season, posting nine goals, 17 points, and 93 hits. This is after he set career highs with 37 goals, 23 assists, and 60 points last season.
Overall, Vatrano provides solid secondary scoring and plenty of physicality when playing at his best. Thus, he could be a good rental for the Devils to bring in at the deadline.
With the Devils needing help in their bottom six, Fabbri could also be an intriguing player for them to target. The 28-year-old forward has five goals, nine points, and 35 hits in 22 games this campaign with Anaheim. He has also been trending in the right direction, posting three goals and five points over his last four games.
Like Vatrano, Fabbri has the potential to be a solid offensive contributor. Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, he had 18 goals and 32 points in 68 games.
