Depay’s salary request for Milan and Roma revealed

Several sources in Italy claim that Memphis Depay has been offered to Roma and Milan, but the Netherlands international has demanded a €5m-a-year salary.

Depay is available on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Atletico Madrid and both Calciomercato.com and Tuttosport report that the striker’s agents have offered him to Serie A giants Milan and Roma.

Both Italian media report that Depay has requested a €5m-a-year salary plus a sign-on bonus. As per Tuttosport, the Dutch striker is looking for a multiple-year agreement until 2026 or 2027.

His requests have cooled down Milan and Roma’s interest, but talks between the clubs and the striker’s entourage may continue over the summer.

Milan have made Alvaro Morata their priority target in attack, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently confirmed that the Rossoneri may have three centre forwards in 2024-25, with two new signings upfront joining the confirmed Luka Jovic.

Milan have also been offered Roma’s Tammy Abraham, but they won’t match the Giallorossi’s €25m asking price. According to Tuttosport, the Rossoneri are also monitoring Kévin Denkey (Club Brugge) and Youssef En-Nesyri (Sevilla).

Roma, on the other hand, are in talks with Villarreal for Alexander Sorloth but have failed to reach an agreement for now.
