Brentford put on a strong display as they beat Denham United 3-0 in the London South East Division One North at The Den on Sunday.

Freya Worsley opened the scoring for the Bees with a superb strike from distance before Nikki Woods struck to make it 2-0 at half-time. Woods sealed the win for Brentford with a brilliant finish earning the side a deserved three points.

Karleigh Osborne’s Bees came into the league fixture off the back of a 6-1 win over Ashmount Leigh at Gtech Community Stadium in their last outing.

An unchanged starting XI made a positive start at The Den. Chloe Logie had an early chance to put the visitors in front but her volley from inside the box went just wide.

Brentford soon took the lead when Worsley picked up the ball from 25 yards and unleashed a powerful shot which lobbed Zara Butt in the Denham net on 10 minutes.

Logie nearly made it two moments later when her strike from distance smashed off the bar, as the forward looked eager to improve her goal tally.

The Bees remained in control for the remainder of the half as Denham struggled to create any real chances in the final third.

Brentford eventually got their second five minutes before the break when a strike from Logie crashed off the bar before falling in the path of Woods who tapped the ball home into an empty net.

The visitors started the second half in confident fashion. Just after the break Osborne’s side came close when a Maddie Phillips free-kick from just outside the box went inches wide.

Brentford were playing some great football at times despite the challenging surface at The Den.

On 68 minutes the Bees made it 3-0 as Woods grabbed her second and Brentford’s third with a great strike from the left side of the box.

The forward dribbled into the area before cutting inside on to her right foot and finding the top-right corner.

The visitors saw out their lead in comfortable fashion to win their 14th game in a row and claim another three points.
