Deco remains hopeful about recovering injury-prone Barcelona player’s best version again
FC Barcelona continues to struggle with injuries despite their optimistic start to the new campaign so far. Despite their flawless results and streak so far, it is clear to see that the club is not at its best just yet. Unfortunately, for that to happen, Barcelona will need to at least recover their injured players.
So far, it seems that the club will still need some more time to let their players recover before that can happen. Players like Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo, Fermin Lopez, Andreas Christensen, and several others still remain sidelined and their absence can be clearly felt in terms of the team’s overall depth.
Fortunately, however, some of the players have taken some great steps in terms of their respective recoveries. Two such players are Gavi and Ansu Fati, who have already rejoined group training sessions and are looking to mark their returns sooner rather than later.
In the case of Fati, however, Barcelona director Deco had some clear opinions despite his injury record, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano:
“Ansu Fati is our player. We are happy to have him back… He has suffered a lot with injuries in recent years, but he is 21 years old and has a whole career ahead of him.”
Moreover, the club director remains hopeful that the young Barcelona forward will be able to find his best version again as well:
“He has a good chance of becoming the Ansu we want. Everyone knows who he is.”
With his recovery going well, and Hansi Flick reportedly even being willing to wait for the player to return, it is clear that there is a lot of faith in Fati’s ability within Barcelona. While it remains to seem if he is able to repay that faith, at least the club continues to support him thoroughly.
Recently, Deco also spoke in length about some other key topics as well. One of those was a statement he declared regarding Gavi, another one of the club’s recovering stars, and how he believes that the young midfielder could be the signing of the season for Hansi Flick’s team.
