An insight into something of a disagreement to have come to the fore behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona has today been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, and surrounds Barca’s ongoing search for reinforcements out wide.

It is of course common knowledge that the transfer team at the Camp Nou are on the lookout for fresh blood on the flanks with a view to next season.

Amid concerns over the balance of a frontline made up of Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, the latter is expected to be moved on, to make way for a more natural option on the left.

To date, a whole host of names from across Spain and the continent alike have been tipped as potential arrivals in Hansi Flick’s squad.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, opinions regarding the target of choice are far from unanimous.

As per Sport, Barcelona sporting director Deco has given his backing to the signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool.

Several other leading figures behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, though, are adamant that Athletic Club’s Nico Williams is the superior option.

With the two players understood to boast similar price-tags, it now remains to be seen who, in the end, wins out.
