Darwitz and Wendell-Pohl Enter Hockey Hall of Fame Tonight

Natalie Darwitz and Krissy Wendell-Pohl will officially join the Hockey Hall of Fame as inductees tonight alongside three men's hockey players as part of the class of 2024.

Internationally, Darwitz represented the United States on 11 occasions including three Olympic Games. She captioned the National team on three times including the 2007-08 and 2008-09 World Championships as well as the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.

In her 55 games representing the U.S she scored 83 points with 43 of those points being goals.

She has won three gold and five silver medals at the World Championships as well as two silver and one bronze medal at the Olympics.

Darwitz was named to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in 2019 as well as IIHF Hall of Fame in 2024. This season Natalie Darwitz built the PWHL champion Minnesota roster as the inaugural general manager for the team.

Krissy Wendell-Pohl career accolades started early as in her senior year of high school she was named the best female high school hockey player in Minnesota, winning the Ms. Hockey award, after scoring 165 points in just 30 games for Park Center High.

Wendell-Pohl would go on to have a similar career path to her college teammate, Darwitz, playing for the Gophers for three seasons with her being named captain of the team for their 2005 season.

Pohl won two National Championship in 2004 and in 2005 as well as being a finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award in all three of her seasons in the NCAA.

Internationally she would represent the United States on eight occasions including two Olympic Games. She would go on to captain the Americans during the 2005-2006 World Championships and the 2006-2007 Olympic Games in Turin, Italy.

In her 39 appearances with the national team she would score 69 points while winning one gold and five silver medals at the world championships and one bronze and one silver medals at the Olympics.
