A very unusual situation has arisen at Barcelona with the drama involving Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Both players are awaiting the final response from the courts, but both players and the club will be starting to explore what might happen next.

One such scenario could see Olmo leave Barça for six months before rejoining on the 1st of July, however, this wouldn’t be a loan as we know it.

As per ElDesmarque, any agreement would need to be in the form of a private work contract, where Olmo is technically a ‘free agent’ and signs a short-term six-month contract with a new side.

The player would then resume his contractual relationship with Barcelona on expiry of this six-month contract, making him a Barcelona player once more. This scenario would be a work around for the club’s inability to send him out on loan.

The main barrier to any agreement like this would be getting another club to agree to such a scenario, the likes of which haven’t been seen in football before.

AC Milan have arisen as a possible destination for the midfielder, but there is still plenty that must be done before any progress can be made in the 26-year-old’s future.
