According to the information of The Mirror’s Ryan Taylor, Dani Olmo’s £50 million RB Leipzig release clause is expected to be triggered before it expires on Monday, amid ongoing starring performances at the European Championships in Germany.

The report details that there are clubs from both the Premier League and Spain ready to meet the 26-year-old’s release clause in the Bundesliga following ‘background discussions’ in recent days and weeks.

While Manchester City have been heavily linked with the player both in England and Germany, The Mirror names Chelsea as one of the clubs to have shown ‘concrete interest’ in landing the Spaniard, while Liverpool are ‘unlikely’ to move.

But what sort of transfer fee could RB Leipzig demand beyond the player’s release clause after Monday? The report states that should clubs show interest beyond his deadline next week, the Bundesliga club will demand between £60 million and £70 million.

At present, it remains unknown as to whether Manchester City have any interest in signing Dani Olmo via his release clause, having already turned down one opportunity to recruit through a similar contractual factor.

Bruno Guimaraes has been a primary target since the opening of the ongoing summer transfer window, although Manchester City’s interest in the player did not extend to a willingness to sanctioning the activation of his £100 million release clause, which has since expired.
