Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb responds to criticism from Troy Aikman

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was interviewed by former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett for NBC’s ‘Football Night in America,’ where he responded to franchise legend Troy Aikman’s criticism.

Aikman had criticized the routes and effort the Cowboys pass-catchers gave, specifically calling out Lamb for ‘lazy’ routes while appearing on 96.7 FM the Ticket.

“I think they run terrible routes and I’ve thought that beyond this year. I think CeeDee [Lamb] has to improve his route running and, as a quarterback, if you aren’t certain where guys are going to be consistently it is going to be hard to play the position. That’s what I see, guys lazy coming off the line of scrimmage,” said Aikman.

Lamb said he listened to Aikman’s critique and will use it as fuel as the season progresses.

“As a leader obviously I take it in, I use it as a building block. Like if you say our routes are lazy, personally I take that as constructive criticism. So for me, I go work, I’m a hard worker so anything you say I’m not doing I’m gonna show you that I am doing it,” said Lamb.

The All-Pro pass catcher also answered questions about his and Dak Prescott’s sideline conversations that have drawn attention throughout the season.

“The frustration comes from the competitive level, obviously, of the work that we put in throughout the week,” said Lamb, “If [Prescott] has some frustration he’s gonna come tell me and vice versa. It’s not that we’re arguing it’s not anything of that negative nature. It’s constructive criticism, it’s not that I’m beating him or bashing him it’s more so let me help you and you help me.”

Lamb and Prescott’s connection hasn’t been as sharp this season as in years past but the Oklahoma product has still had success and has the 10th most receiving yards in the NFL coming into week 8.
