Dallas Cowboys great Michael Irvin explains what the team must do to save its season

Michael Irvin told TMZ Sports what the Cowboys needed to do to turn their season around.

Dallas Cowboys icon Michael Irvin was speaking with TMZ Sports on Thursday when he laid out what he thought the franchise needed to do to turn around its season.

The Cowboys, 3-4 and in third place in the NFC East and losers of four of their past six games, struggle to stop the run amid a litany of defensive injuries and have consistently had trouble scoring.

“It looks bad right now and the only hope Cowboys really have right now is if some kind of move is made at the trade deadline. I don’t know, you’re certainly not gonna do it staying pat like they are right now,” said Irvin.

According to the Atheltic’s Dianna Russini Cowboys owner Jerry Jones won’t make any moves by the NFL trade deadline at 3 p.m. on Nov. 5.

Irvin said that if things didn’t change then perhaps the Cowboys should consider moving on from head coach Mike McCarthy.

“I just left Dallas, trust me, the morale is bad everyone is hurting,” said Irvin, “ If you continue to lose then something is going to have to happen so there’s never, it’s ok, losing in the NFL, the toughest most pressurized job in this country... bar none if you don’t win yo [expletive] gone.”

The Cowboys will try and get back on track when they play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Nov. 3, at noon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
