Montréal, it is 21°. 16 for toronto. In some spots that have been hot and sticky through this week, it's not necessarily as sticky. Mild in temperature. The humidity has reduced. That is due to the cold front that is slowly moving its way through québec and heading to atlantic canada. A big difference of temperatures across the atlantic provinces. We have 15 in fredericton and 17 for halifax. 13 in charlottetown. 3 in St. John's. It will be a cooler day across newfoundland and labrador. Similar temperatures in labrador city compared to thunder bay. 5s in winnipeg and regina. 6 for edmonton. 10 in vancouver. 0 in prince george. Northern b.c., warmer than the rest of the province. We will see similar temperatures in port nelson. Lots of sunshine expected for the B.C. coast today with that sun spilling offer the boundary in alberta. Central communities are seeing some rainfall. Showers in southern manitoba. And then this front and a lot of cloud associated with it moving eastward across québec this morning. Thunderstorms slowly weakening. But still something to factor in. Reduced visibility as the storms are moving through. In behind that, the showers in manitoba. This moisture coming up from montana. South dakota and north dakota prompting rainfall warning. 50 to 60 millimeters of rain expected. Enhancing by late tonight and through the day on friday and easing to showers on saturday. This is a soaking rain in an area that already has high water levels through the red river valley. For ontario and québec, we will see the rain and for some, snow in labrador and northern ontario where accumulations are hitting 10 centimetres continue through today. It will be sunny in the south. But today, due to the fact that that low is centred farther north, the winds coming down from the northwest will cut the heat. It is also less humid. You will notice today in the shade, it's actually cooler. Yesterday wasn't so much cooler in the shade due to the fact that the air was so humid. With that decrease in humidity, that shade will provide some relief. You will notice along the lake shore, it feels cooler. Overnight tonight into tomorrow morning, that heavy rain does continue in areas of southern manitoba. North dakota as well gets hammered by that rainfall. We will see the risk of thunderstorms in the U.S. midwest once again for friday afternoon. That front barrels eastward. Friday overnight into saturday will be an incredibly challenging day south of the border as the rainfall begins to ease through areas of northern manitoba and into northern ontario. I love how your character says she feels amazing. We watch her journey. Hilarious changes. How much did you draw on your own experience? >> I was pregnant at the time. Partnered with my husband for many years. And very different from my character. The movie is "babes" is about two best friends who are in two very different places in their lives. My character is single and free spirited and has no idea how incredibly hard it is to make a human and raise a human while her best friend played by michelle is married and has two kids and when my character gets pregnant from a one night stand, she decides to keep the baby and it tests their friendship. The first scene that you rolled, that was my character eden needing her best friend dawn. >> Lindsey: when you sent the script off to shop around, what was the response like? >> People either got this movie or they didn't. They never had seen a story about a woman choosing to be pregnant. Choosing to have a baby that was a hard comedy in this way. The people who didn't get it was like this is gross. >> Lindsey: were they men? It is so real to me. The conversations that you have. >> Exactly. I think that this story could seem blue or gross because it is coming from women and it's being spoken by women. To me, this is real. >> Lindsey: it's real, 100%. That plays so well. Michelle, speaking of playing well. Michelle plays your best friend. The two of you, the chemistry is wild. Did you have a long history with her? >> Michelle has been doing comedy for 23 years and I have been doing it for 18 years in new york. We have been friends for almost 20 years. She is so delightful and so funny. And we really share the same values in comedy. We don't have to make fun of somebody to be funny. We have been friends for so long. Making a movie together could go one way or the other. >> Lindsey: it's a good way. Even that opening sequence which is a good way to start the movie, I laughed so hard. She is the one in labour. You are at the movie. It is hysterical and it is so real. >> Thank you. >> Lindsey: I remember when I had my first baby, my husband still can't talk about it. He wanted to be uptown and the doctor had him downtown. He was like, I didn't want to be downtown. Like your character, there's a lot going on. And maybe some things were unexpected. You think you can plan for something, but not necessarily. >> My character thinks she will be cool with this birth, but she is horrified. >> Lindsey: this movie is hysterical. anyway. We continue. >> Kelsey: you know far too much about this. >> Kelsey: starting off in québec city. This view courtesy of YouTube. You can see the ponding that is happening this morning just in certain areas due the to the fact that rain blew through and thunderstorms as well. Within the thunderstorms you get that ENHANCEs rainfall. That's the case for areas along the eastern edge of the jet stream. Pushing into atlantic canada. Now in behind that, as we look at our upper air pattern, a lot of people see this map and associate the colours you are seeing on it with temperature. What you are actually seeing is the varying thicknesses of the atmosphere. We have an area of lower pressure dominating across much of canada. Ask that has pushed our jet stream. This green line in the mid-latitudes well south of the border. What that means for you at home when you see these weather maps, if you were to google jet stream in canada, if you see it, you know that colder air has moved its way over the region and pushed that jet stream southward. That means temperatures are likely trending below seasonal. That holds steady in western canada for the next several days. We get a slight ridge that blowing through ontario and québec. It takes until monday before an upperridge starts building into alberta. We get a low that will hit the allusions. Southwesterly flow will drive chinook conditions first in alberta and that heat will spill eastward tuesday and wednesday. I point that outside because as we look at the temperatures in the west, they are cool. Still continuing. It's the reduced air quality in northeast B.C. generally, the cooler forecast has really helped to reduce that fire behaviour. An area that is the exception to the cooler forecast is this region where we have seen temperatures continue to be in the MID-20s or so. Outside of that, though, it has been relatively cool. Despite the fact that the sun is shining on the west coast. Temperatures eps of the warmer pocket over northern B.C. and alberta have been trending below seasonal. In some cases, it's single digits. Calgary, for example, hitting 11 today. That doesn't last as we start to see the beginnings of that ridging, you start to see temperatures rise. Today, temperatures in southern manitoba are in the teens. You got a big drop ahead of you. That is associated with a low that is going to move its way up from montana to the dakota. That will continue its progression eastward. Thunderstorms are possible south of the border. Severe ones offer the next couple of days. North dakota kicking off tomorrow morning with severe thunderstorms. But on the north edge of that, the rainfall moves its way into southern manitoba. And we could see a transition over to snow by the time we hit friday afternoon through higher terrain within the province. That rain will continue in ernest until saturday morning when it eases to showers. For now, we will take a short break showing you your local forecast. >> Lindsey: als is a progressive disease ending in paralysis. Thanks to a new breakthrough, that could change.
