nations and israel was not able to life on virtually any statement coming from the united nations that would have justified its arguments that the court should issue no further orders in contrast so that ferc issued a 61 page statement to the to the court that was rich in un statements and un reports on how catastrophic the humanitarian situation is in gaza. And I think that's what too would have proven to the court to be the most persuasive evidence. >> All right, michael lang, former un special rapporteur for the situation of human rights in the palestinian territory from 2016 to 2022. Thank you very much for being here. We appreciate your insights today. >> Thank you very much. Running. Meantime, a deadline is fast approaching at the university of toronto school officials have given pro-palestinian protesters until 4:00pm eastern to end encampment that was set up more than 3 weeks ago. Ctv's mike walker joins us from the campus with the very latest. Mike. >> Encampment here king's college circle remains are more than 170 tense. Few moments ago, we heard from students and demonstrators and they're not exactly saying that they reject this offer or proving this offer. They say they are still reviewing it and haven't decided whether they'll pack up and leave just yet. But they did say, however, that the offer from the university is not meeting their demands and said it's not good enough. Yesterday, the university gave demonstrators 24 hours to respond to its offer to end this encampment, which has been set up since may. Second, that includes forming a working group to consider options for the disclosure of the school's investments. The university said it won't and any partnerships with israeli schools, which is one of the demands of this offer is conditional on the encampment being cleared and not set up elsewhere on campus at the university warning it's prepared to start issuing trespass notices. Students say they are still reviewing this offer. Here is more. >> This document. Is a farce. This document is nothing but a summary of their already existing procedure on divestment disclosure with a few minor tweaks to bait us into thinking that we're getting a good deal out of this. They're really in this current moment. It is up to the administration, whether they are willing to be serious to engage in a genuine conversation about commitments towards divestment or if they're going to continue to give you know, big committees that ultimately lead us nowhere. >> Our offer is fair and reasonable. Our approach is in keeping with the university's fundamental commitments to free expression. Peaceful protests and the diversity of opinions that exist in our community. Now both sides say this offer has been on the table since we started meeting. But demonstrators say this is the first time. >> They have it in writing again. They say they are continuing to review this office from the university. However, the university says it's prepared to start issuing those trespass notices after 4:00pm this afternoon. We also asked toronto police have they been notified about clearing this encampment face tell us they've been in contact with the university, but their assistance hasn't been requested by mike walker. >> Brampton murder trial has heard the gunman who was accused of killing an ontario man and shooting 4 of his family members was allegedly part of a trio who had pledged allegiance to isis. The he said that 95% of newfoundland this would never get an opportunity to see the battlefields of france. And he had the request of the unknown soldier back then, but it never went any workers. Knowles records of any replies or anything like that. And then I like I said, it was in the military can ride home. Sullivan's crossing new episode on ctv stream on all your favourite devices >> The question it. >> And then you know, my kit >> That was a clip from the very apocalyptic action-packed film furiosa in mad max saga. And joining us now to talk more about the movies of the week is film critic richard crouse. Richard, always good to see you. Thanks for being here. Thanks for having me. I know first up, we have the much anticipated prequel to mad max fury road furiosa in mad max august, starring chris hemsworth and anya taylor. Joy. The film premiere to good responses at the cannes film festival. All your thoughts. >> Well, at the end of that clip that we just showed chris centre says something like do you have what it takes to make pack? And director george miller who's been making mad max movie is now for 45 years. Certainly does this is a prequel to the don't fury road. As you said, got stones are charlize theron originate the role of the warrior furiosa. This is the origin story she has now played by anya taylor joy in and it's a revenge movie, such an apocalyptic the city's a broken down there is still a wasteland where most of this movie happens that is controlled by 2 or 3 warlords. Chris terms workplace, one of those warlords. But really, I can tell you about the part of this movie, but it doesn't really matter that much. You'll figure it out when you go see it. >> What you need to know about this is that george miller has not lost a step in terms of making these action sequences that will make the eyes pop out of your there's one sequence in particular in this will be called the stowaway sequence that he told me took 78 days to film and as you see it reminded me of that old joke were be used to advertise monster truck rallies. You'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge because you'll keep edging forward in your seat. Just see what happens next. It's absolutely I popping really interesting to look at and it's a worthy addition to the mad story. So I gave it 4 out of 5 stars and it's in theatres right okay. >> Next, we have richard linklater's hit man. Are you impressed by this thrilling romcom? I'm sure was. >> This was my favourite film out of the most recent toronto international film festival. Glenn powell gary, who is a fairly boring college professor by as a sideline, keep entrapment by his local police department, where they have someone to dress up like a hit man. And then try and get people to volunteer information about wanting their husband or wife or business associate. Whoever might be killed. And then they swoop in and arrest them. >> When the cop who usually does it becomes ill. Gary subs in the turns out, he's really good at it. So he dawn's disguises, becomes the best probably in the whole police department at this and tell one day he leads the young woman who wants her husband killed, he falls for her, she falls for him. He's convinced she's innocent. But there might be more to the story. This hasn't seen it near the end of the film, about three-quarters of the way through the movies that is so well written so well performed. It is slap stick. It is smart. It's funny that it actually got a round of applause from the audience that I saw with them. You don't see that the movie is very often this is entertaining top to bottom gold hit man. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars and it's in

theatres right fantastic. Next. We have the garfield movie, which you know, at first blush feels like a bit of a been there, done that. So what's different about this one? >> Well, what's different about this one is that it's not really a garfield show, although it stars garfield who is now forced by chris pratt and and he looks pretty much like he does come a comic strips. But in the comic strips, he's of sardonic blues on your loving cat who loves to take naps asleep not really do that much in terms of any sort of physical activity now in this film, he's placed in the middle of a huge heist. He is on the one constantly and it just doesn't feel like garfield. It feels more like a generic action movie for kids. And I think that kids 10 11 years old or so cross may get a real kick out of this it's colourful, you know, entertaining and it goes by a 2 speed of light up. There's a lot of gags and here, I think that will really appeal to kids. Parents left. So I think. >> But it's not does not really feel like a garfield movie. So I gave it 2 and a half out of 5 stars and it's in theatres right now. >> Can you give us an extremely quick review of our last one called babes. >> Davis is a story of friendship between 2 women died is post heartfelt, humorous kind of raunchy and never met a bodily function. It would make a joke about I like this one a lot. If you want to just laugh and have a good time with interesting characters, baby, is it for you? I get 3 and a half out of 5 stars and it's in theatres right now. Wonderful. All right. Richard crouse, film critic, thank you as always for being here. Thank you for having me. >> Coming up, the international court of justice borders israel to immediately halt its operation in rafah. We will have those details just after the break. Stay with us. So they will be showing up later today, but whether or not, you know, there's a full of a U.S. encampment or any sort of escalation is really in the hands of the ut administration at this point. >> Ignore the uk's request o he became this. >> I think all ultimately, you know, that. For that they put forward billy is the first offer. It's a first and you know, we look forward to for further negotiations and you know, it's a bit disheartening that despite agreeing to the and continue these negotiations, this administration is still going forward with a trespass notice. We're here will continue to be here and will continue to no, you're not. I as of right now, I mean, it's 4 o'clock right now. No one's talking up their tense. I will be here later this afternoon for shabbat service at and you know, we have lots of programming planned for tomorrow. So yeah, we're here, I will continue to be here to demand that. So did you have to say that even if you stay here over the weekend, that you're still you're on sunday, they'll still be with you at 5:00pm despite the trust has now since so adam, in the email that I just received 10 for this at a press conference here, the confirmed with us that they're meeting with us at 5:00pm up, but that they're moving forward, the trespass that's where we're at right you know, this trespass notice is the first of a much longer you know, these types of things, you know, they issue that trespass notice and then you know, that starts to get the wheels turning, but doesn't mean immediately. And the next you know, for 5 minutes that hundreds of cops are going to show up. There's lots of room between now and then. And we implore the administration to the right thing to be on the right side of history to divest from israeli apartheid. And lest these ongoing genocide do any more details on what the notice looks like. Like a is there a time frame as to when to get the tickets when you have to make a yeah, I mean, it's perfect 4:00pm right now, it's for it. We were told it what knew we would receive it at it was not, but here yet. So we anticipate it's a common the next, you know, 5.10, minutes or so. We'll be sure to
