they would like to see, you know, fair, easy to follow your pricing so they can compare prices even amount similar goods within a store and I think, you know, that's something that's been talked about and it's something were the province and the federal government need to work together to make that happen. It can be very interesting, you know, you can find within one grocery group a case where you'll find your pricing right across the stores where one brand name on it, when the switch to another brand name, they don't implement the same policy. The province of québec does have unit pricing lock and it has actually had the outcome that consumers in québec are much more aware of how they can find better value when they shop. Anything that is very important to people right now got to make there -- your dollar go a long way groceries are not the only points of pressure. Because of automobiles, the cost of that that they have not already existing, consult housing whether it's -- are all very significant report now. >> Akshay: in do you said border provinces and federal government have to work together on this. Ken whitehurst, we here in time, thank you for joining us. >> You're welcome. >>> In other news making headlines a national court of justice is ordering israel to stop it's operation rafah, a key city in southern gaza. More pressure on israel now even though the excel has no means actually enforce this order. >> Israel must immediately halt its military offensive in any other action in the rafah -- which make conflict in the palestinian group and were rafah condition on life that could bring about physical destruction -- >> Akshay: the president of the quarterly monitoring situation in gaza is catastrophic your market also ordered israel to reopen a key border crossing in rafah to allow more aid and medical supplies into gaza. It -- in all likelihood israel will not comply. Prime minister justin trudeau was asked about the ruling today. >> Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau: this position has always been the -- of the solution to the extraordinary difficult challenges in the middle east a two state solution, a peaceful, secure, democratic israel alongside a peaceful, secure, democratic west indian state. >> Akshay: let's now bring in yves fortier, former canadian ambassador to the united nations. Would evening and thank you for your time. >> Good evening. >> Akshay: many reactions after the ruling from the icj but -- what do you think this actually means for israel? >> Well it's yet another charge by an organ of the international community against israel. They are just, you know, there just piling on one after the other and it has two mean something. It has to reach the prime minister, prime minister netanyahu and his colleagues. It's almost a whole international community, you know, which is leveling charges against israel. And this decision, earlier today by the icj with which I have some familiarity, having sat as an judge of the court abbott here, actually, they say the humanitarian situation in the gaza strip should now be characterized as disastrous. And then in another paragraph of the court considers that the above-mentioned developments are exceptionally grave. This is wording, these are words that I have not seen the icj use in the past. So where will it lead? As I said earlier, it's just another court on -- "assault" on israel -- >> Akshay: but if I may ask her, the question are -- are all these orders whether it's the icc or the icj even though it's a precise and so forceful like you just have mentioned, is it actually

great -- going to make a difference to israel win it has its staunch allies primarily the U.S. standing by it? >> Well, that is a very good all-encompassing question. I don't usually do this but I will reply with a question of my own. How long can the united states continue to support in every possible respect the context of israel? You know, these events -- as you say come the icc and today the icj, and the carnage goes on. Humanitarian crisis is extremely, extremely serious. So I believe that after these many months, you know, since the faithful october 7th, I believe that the time will come. And hopefully, you know, we'll come soon when the united states is going to apply additional pressure on israel and its prime minister netanyahu. I believe the time will come. I don't know -- of course, I don't know why but I believe it will come. This requires -- if ever there was a time for the united states to involve itself in a constructive way, I believe that that time is now. >> Akshay: we'll leave it that that -- other for the moment. We appreciate you joining us this evening. Yves fortier, former training about her to the united nations. And kieper time and appreciated. >> Thank you remind university of toronto has issued a trespass notice to those participating in april palestinian encampment on this campus. >> Whether or not, you know, there's a full incoming or any sort of explosion is really an end of the u of t administration at this point. >> Akshay: latest -- list comes after the university -- university says it will take all necessary legal steps of the airport this -- of the protesters do not leave my monday morning.

There the same group of people that run candidates in every election and you lose a religion but they don't mind losing because they have a point to make. I'm about winning. >> Akshay: for his part, bc conservative leader john rustad says that kevin falcon said publicly that he wants to put his ego aside but privately, any discussions or offers have been completely unserious and dishonest." the province's former premier has weighed in on the matter. Here's what she had to say. >> John rustad and kevin falcon were both in my cabin incarnated a job -- I like them both but I don't think either of them that operating very rationally no and I think, you know, they have to put their egos aside and -- there -- each of them will give up something important to them in order for the best interest of his province to be looked after. >> Akshay: and pulling earlier this week, wc conservatives at 32% and bc united at 12%. The ndp though the still way ahead with 42%. >>> In summer other developments this could be a summer of disruptions at airports and are -- land crossing that could be -- workers with canada burst -- border services have and then smoke and a union is recommended. Ctv's genevieve beauchemin had more on what this could mean for travellers. >> Reporter: the union said that it -- it could also slow the full -- flow of goods across the borders and spent any -- you spent any time here at the lacolle border crossing for instance anything they do tell me truck are flowing back and forth here. That cbsa has employees at land border crossings at airports, marine porch, there's also intelligence officers and what divincentiis wants is among other things better wages permanently that they want wages that are more in line with other law enforcement agencies like the rcmp. >> You know, you prefer a greater priority regarding salary, suppressions around adjustable -- excessive discipline and protections around contracting out and, of course, equitable retirement benefits. >> Reporter: what the federal government is saying, the employer, is that this is still in negotiation, that this potential strike is unnecessary. The prime minister, justin trudeau, said today that the better deals are hammered out at the negotiation table. And that is not an option here. But they are saying that you want to remind canadians that 90% of the workers rogers handed the union's crack mandates are actually designated as essential so they have the provide service in the event of a strike.
