Selhurst Park is the venue for Saturday’s early Premier League kick-off as Crystal Palace play host to leaders Liverpool.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool predicted lineups

Crystal Palace (4-3-2-1): Henderson; Munoz, Guehi, Lacroix, Mitchell; Wharton, Lerma, Hughes; Eze, Nketiah; Mateta

Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Szboboszlai; Diaz, Jota, Salah

There are already 12 points separating the sides, with Palace still looking for their first league win of the season.

The Eagles won the most recent fixture between these sides when surprising the Reds 1-0 at Anfield in April, courtesy of a goal from Eberechi Eze.

Gravenberch shines in an impressive squad

When he joined Liverpool for £35 million from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, there were a lot of questions asked regarding where Ryan Gravenberch would fit into the Reds team.

Under Jurgen Klopp, the Dutchman made only 12 Premier League starts in the 2023-24 season, normally in wide positions.

There was even some speculation at the end of last term that Liverpool may look to move him on — until the arrival of Arne Slot.

Having missed out on signing Martin Zubimendi, Slot decided to give his fellow countryman the chance in the centre of midfield during pre-season.

Gravenberch grasped the chance with both hands and the 22-year-old has been Liverpool’s best player and now looks a crucial member of the starting XI.

The player admitted that starting games has given him a “lot of confidence” and his manager is delighted with the impact he is having.

Following the midweek Champions League win over Bologna, Slot admitted Gravenberch had “surprised” him.

The Reds boss added: “He’s just very comfortable on the ball, and that helps the team if you want to have a possession-based style of play.”

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool team news

Oliver Glasner saw his Crystal Palace team take the lead but then lose at Everton last weekend and admitted afterwards that they have to “find a way to get the momentum back”.

Chris Richards missed the clash at Goodison Park and his hamstring problem is expected to sideline him until after the international break.

Another absentee is Cheick Doucoure, with the midfielder still struggling with a toe injury.

Liverpool made just one change in their Champions League game on Wednesday and Slot is likely to stick with the majority of the team who beat Bologna.

Darwin Nunez started in midweek but is likely to be replaced by Diogo Jota, who made an impact from the bench.

Harvey Elliott is still missing with a broken foot, while Federico Chiesa will face a late fitness test having missed Wednesday’s match having picked up a problem in training.
