Crystal Palace have agreed a £12.6m (€15m) deal in principle to sign Marseille winger Ismaila Sarr.

That is according to the Athletic’s ultra-reliable David Ornstein, who states that a four-year contract was put in place earlier this week and a medical is scheduled to take place in the coming days.

Palace have long held an interest in the 26-year-old, having first explored a move to sign him while he was at Watford.

Sarr left the Hornets for Marseille last summer, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 35 appearances for the Ligue 1 club.

He will replace Michael Olise at Selhurst Park, who departed in a big-money move to Bayern Munich earlier in the summer.

As for Marseille, the fee for Sarr may allow Roberto De Zerbi to make further signings, with Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah one of several names linked with a switch to the Stade Véledrome.
