Crystal Palace 0-2 Fulham: Depleted Eagles continue to toil
The biggest consolation for a struggling and depleted Crystal Palace was that the damage was limited to just two goals in their defeat to Fulham.
Oliver Glasner’s side have now collected just five points from the last 21 available and with so many key players absent they rarely looked capable of taking anything from their contest against the Cottagers.
Without the suspended Will Hughes, as well as Eddie Nketiah, Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze and Jefferson Lerma there was an unfamiliar feel to Glasner's starting XI.
And while there was a proud moment for Justin Devenny making his Palace debut, the makeshift midfield partnership between the 21-year-old and England central defender Marc Guehi, only exposed the difficulties the Eagles are currently facing.
Unable to gain any real forward momentum, Palace spent most of their afternoon chasing the ball and were repeatedly carved open at the back by their fluent opponents.
Maxence Lacroix’s mistake on the stroke of half-time and the second-half dismissal of Daichi Kamada certainly did not help either but neither moment felt like it conclusively altered the outcome.
