Cristante’s future remains uncertain as transfer deadline edges closer
Bryan Cristante’s future remains, for the most part, a mystery.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports that Roma and Cristante’s agent have held veiled discussions about a possible departure from the club.
Despite being one of the most heavily relied on players in the squad, Cristante is said to be unhappy with how things are currently going for him.
The newspaper writes that at the moment Cristante is not in good shape and is also thinking about his future options.
He realized that the club, faced with a good offer, could sell him in the last days of the market.
And he spoke about it at length yesterday to his agent, Giuseppe Riso, with whom he had dinner after the match.
It’s not specifically about Sunday’s substitution, when he was forced to come off against Empoli, but his mood isn’t the best.
Cristante didn’t expect Roma to have another uphill start that replicated the first two matchdays of last year. The player wouldn’t stand another missed Champions League qualification.
The feeling is that in the end Cristante will not move from Rome, because there are only a few days left to prepare a negotiation with another team.
Furthermore, for De Rossi he remains a point of reference, a team leader: he has been cited several times as an example of an impeccable professional.
However, the player’s agent had several chats with managers of other clubs. If a reasonable offer were to arrive at Roma’s doorstep, the Giallorossi would certainly consider it.
