Count On Rickard Rakell, Jaden Schwartz Scoring in High-Scoring Penguins Kraken Rematch

Saturday is the best night of the week for hockey and is the ultimate opportunity for NHL fans, with a stacked slate of thrilling matchups that fans eagerly anticipate. The game with best bets that stick out is an afternoon matchup between the Seattle Kraken and the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins.

For bettors, this matchup provides a chance to capitalize on some of our recent strong trends, like our 21-10 record on our last 31 picks and our 17-8 record on our last 25 player prop picks.

All betting lines are from Bet365 and are subject to change. Hockey is a difficult sport to predict so please gamble responsibly.

Penguins vs Kraken Best Bets:

  • Over 5.5 goals (-115)

  • Kraken Over 2.5 goals (-165)

  • Jaden Schwartz Over 0.5 points (-150)

  • Rickard Rakell Over 0.5 points (-150)

These two teams clashed just over a week ago and the result was a slow start from the Kraken that they rallied back from with three unanswered goals in a 4-2 victory. This was another indication of the Penguins biggest problem these days: Goaltending.

The days of Marc-Andre Fleury and a reliable Tristan Jarry are far gone with the Penguins having the worst goals against average in the league at 3.62 this season. They've allowed four or more goals in eight of their last ten games with the Penguins only victories coming when netminder Alex Nedeljkovic has a superb game like his 25-save performance in their 5-1 win over the LA Kings this past Monday.

The Penguins poor defence has forced the 29-year-old Parma product to make 25 or more saves in 15 of his 22 starts this season and made a resounding 38 saves in his only career start versus the Kraken. Seattle has totalled six or more goals in nine of their last 13 home games and the Penguins have done the same but in nine of their last 13 road games.

This should culminate in an exciting matchup with both sides seeing their offences feed and should give us a great chance to add to our stellar record on player props. For Seattle, we look to a veteran in Jaden Schwartz as the 32-year-old winger has the second-most points at home for the Kraken at 15 in 25 games and has started to turned things on lately. The Saskatchawan native has three goals and four assists for a point-per-game average in his last seven game.

For Pittsburgh, we look to siphon off the legendary Sidney Crosby and find value through one of his linemates in the red hot Rickard Rakell. The Penguins top line winger has gelled well with Crosby as of late with eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in his last 14 games.
