Count on Kiefer Sherwood Lifting Canucks to Much Needed Win Over Habs
Monday night is the ultimate opportunity for NHL fans, with a lineup of four thrilling matchups that fans eagerly anticipate. One game that stands out on the schedule is an all-Canadian showdown between the hosting Montreal Canadiens and the visiting Vancouver Canucks.
The Habs are trending upwards with wins in ten of their last 15 games while the Canucks have fallen in the opposite direction with a 4-5-4 record in their last 13 games. For bettors, this matchup provides a chance to capitalize on some of our recent strong trends, like our 6-3 record on our last nine picks and our 9-5 record on our last 14 player prop picks.

Bet: Canucks ML (-130), Canucks Habs Over 5.5 goals (-135), Kiefer Sherwood Over 1.5 shots on net (-175)
The Canucks are hurt on defence with both Filip Hronek and captain Quinn Hughes out of the lineup as of late, causing the team to lose it's form without it's two anchor points.
Vancouver has allowed 34 goals over their last ten games, which is tied for ninth-worst the league during that span. The Habs should have no problem scoring at least three goals as they go against a defence that has allowed that much in seven straight games.
Montreal has one of the hottest offences in the NHL with 34 goals scored over their last nine games, which is third-most in the NHL and has been predominately lead by the sensational depth forward duo of Jake Evans and Emil Heineman.
The pair of fourth line forwards have a combined nine goals and seven assists for 16 total points over their last nine games. Their overall lineup contributing goals is whats put the Habs in the position they are in and has many betters taking their side with 75 per cent of the public riding with Montreal as a home underdog.
I expect a bounce back game from Vancouver as they will be in the setting where they've strangely succeeded all season on the road.
The Canucks' 11-4-2 record away from their home barn is second-best in the league in terms of point percentage and is further highlighted with their third-best goals against average at 2.59 only trailing the Devils and Wild. Montreal plays their best at home with a 10-7-2 record but they still rep a troublesome 3.11 goals against average.
Both teams should be lively in this one with both offences clicking but I suspect the Canucks to get a much needed win and start moving in the right direction towards their race for a playoff spot. They will likely be lead by Kiefer Sherwood, who has been one of the only positive points for the Canucks this season.
The 29-year-old Ohio native has broken out with a sensational start to the season with 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points but has since started to slow down in terms of tallies on the point sheet.
Sherwood plays more of a physical role on the Canucks with points not expected but they have started to come more than ever this season as his previous career high was 27 points last season.
He is projected to blow past that mark and will need to start getting back on track Monday against the Habs, where he can snap his four-game point drought. If a prop for him to get a point is presented you should take it but if unavailable, you can count on at least two shots on goal, which he's done in seven of his last ten games.
