Count On Habs Pushing Blackhawks to Limit in High-Scoring Shootout

Friday caps off the week with a solid slate of NHL action with some highlighted matchups that should excite all fans of the sport. The most intriguing appears to be matchup between two teams going in different directions.

The Blackhawks have dropped five straight straight with their last three losses coming by four or more goals. The Habs on the other hand have pieced together three straight wins and have won six of their last seven games.

It should make for an exciting matchup with both teams looking to notch a much needed win. We look to improve on some of our impressive records like 31-27 record on unders.

Bet: Habs Blackhawks Over 6.5 goals (+105), Connor Bedard Over 0.5 points (-190), Alex Vlasic Over 0.5 points (+155)

Both sides have impressive goaltending with Montreal's Sam Montembeault and Chicago's Arvid Soderblom, who both have goals against averages under 2.87 and have this total at a low six goals.

The Blackhawks have shown no life lately with 27 goals allowed and just 12 goals scored over their past five games. They may struggle to keep up with a Habs offence that is firing on all cylinders with 31 goals over their recent seven-game heater, which is the most in the NHL during that span.

The run of success has been a coming out party for fourth line forwards Jake Evans and Emil Heineman, who have both dominated with eight combined goals in their last eight games. The impact of the fourth line is being truly felt as others in the lineup like Cole Caufield and Patrik Laine aren't relied on us heavily to get Montreal on the board.

Chicago has only played well at home this season with a 7-10-0 record that is a significant difference from their 5-14-2 road record. They can also score more goals at home with a 2.71 goals per game average compared to their 2.50 average this season.

I expect Connor Bedard and company to finally catch a break here and score a couple goals against a Habs team that has the second-worst road goals against average in the league at 3.72 only trailing the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Defenceman Alex Vlasic has made improvements from last season with 16 points through 38 games this season after finishing with the same amount of points all last season. He's fallen into a recent rough skid with seven straight games without a point but should get a great chance to find his way back onto the scoresheet.
