Could Manchester City’s next move in the market be coming together?

So far Manchester City have made three signings in the current transfer window. Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis have all joined the club. But that doesn’t appear to be the end of Manchester City’s spending. If they could sign a full-back and another midfielder it would nearly be the perfect window for the world champions. Now a new report indicates that Juventus have lowered their asking price for Andrea Cambiaso. If that report is correct it may provide a clue as to what Manchester City’s next move in the market may be.

Michel Sakr has relayed a report from JuventusNews24 for JuveFc.com that Juventus has lowered their asking price for Andrea Cambiaso. Their report suggests that Manchester City may launch a bid of between €60-65 million to sign the versatile full-back. Sakr adds that Juventus could use the funds they gain from selling Cambiaso to bolster their squad or balance the club’s books.

A look at the full-back situation at Manchester City shows that they could benefit from signing Andrea Cambiaso. At right-back Pep Guardiola is currently using Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis. Nunes has shown in recent games that he can step in and play a role for Manchester City. Rico Lewis started this season strongly but his form has waned of late. Andrea Cambiaso could step in and provide a quality alternative to either player if City did sign the Italian international.

It’s a similar story at left-back. Josko Gvardiol has almost played a line hand in the role for Pep Guardiola. Cambiaso can also step in and play at left-back as well as right-back. The versatile full-back could prove to be shrewd acquisition if City can sign him over the next week and a bit.

It does appear that Manchester City’s next move in the transfer market may be to sign Andrea Cambiaso. If Juventus have lowered their asking price to sell the Italian international the scene may be set for City to strike. A potential Manchester City move for Cambiaso is a story to watch for over the coming days. But based on Michel Sakr’s new report Manchester City could be on the verge of moving for a player who would immensely improve Pep Guardiola’s squad.
