Corey Wootton says the Bears lack an offensive identity
In a week that was filled with questions on the field and on the sidelines for the Chicago Bears, not only did the media chime in with their thoughts, but so did plenty of former players. One of those players was former defensive end Corey Wootton, who played with the Bears for four seasons after being a fourth round pick in 2010, feels the Bears still don't know who they are as a team yet.
Wootton did not hold back when it came to his evaluation of the quarterback matchup between No. 1 pick Caleb Williams and No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels last Sunday, as well as each team's respective coaching staffs. In his breakdown of the rookie quarterbacks, Wootton said it was Daniels who looked poised, calm, and confident in the game.
"Let's say you're not a Bears fan or a Commanders fan, who would you say looked more confident in that game? Jayden Daniels by far," Wootton said. "We see him back there in the pocket, looking confident with the reads, checks, throws, just command of the offense. Then you look at Caleb [Williams], scatterbrained. It doesn't look the same."
The Bears need to find one thing according to @CoreyWootton.

Refusing to put all the blame on Williams himself, Wootton praised Kliff Kingsbury for the job he's done with Daniels in Washington, and says the Bears lack an identity.
"I feel like Kliff Kingsbury is doing a great job of 'hey this is what we're doing well' the identity of our team [Washington]," Wootton said. "If you look at the other side, the Bears do not have an identity. But I guarantee you if Kliff Kingsbury is our play caller, he'll find a way to get it done because he's a superior play caller than Shane Waldron."
A harsh, yet very real breakdown of how the Bears looked coming out of the Week 8 loss to the Washington Commanders. With many questions about the coaching decisions and lack of offensive production, the Bears will have to flip the script and change the narrative with an impressive showing against Arizona this Sunday.
