Connor McDavid's Wife Lauren Makes Big Announcement

EDMONTON -- I don't think Connor McDavid is going anywhere.

This past summer, much speculation arose concerning Leon Draisaitl's future with the Edmonton Oilers. While a few people thought he might consider trying to play elsewhere, most hockey pundits were pontificating on what number his contract extension would land on.

Ultimately, he decided to sign a massive extension to continue playing in Edmonton.

With McDavid's contract expiring at the end of next season, some have already wondered what will happen. Life has surprises, and perhaps today's surprise can put to bed any speculation that McDavid's future is anywhere other than Edmonton.

Earlier today, McDavid's wife, Lauren, announced via an Instagram post that she has a new business venture on the horizon.

The post on Instagram reads, "New business venture well in the works...coming soon Edmonton."

The post includes various images and videos. Some show Lauren outside of a classy-looking establishment, most likely in downtown Edmonton. There is also an image of blueprints and a sign showing what she has in store for the city.

Bar Trove will open in the Spring of this year. It's unclear if this is part of something bigger, as another image with "Trove Living" was also part of the Instagram post.

While the public waits for further clarification of what exactly is opening in Edmonton, it's safe to suggest that the McDavid's aren't going anywhere.
